Course Overview
The Synthesis Institute’s Colorado Psilocybin Facilitator Training Program is presented as a Colorado-approved training center pathway for people pursuing legal psychedelic facilitation in the state. The core training includes 150+ hours of interdisciplinary education and is designed to support the first step toward a Colorado Training License. The program covers legal, professional, ethical, and practice-related foundations for psychedelic facilitation. It also references a Colorado Module for learners who want training aligned with state licensure requirements, along with additional supervised practice and consultation components needed for full licensure. The structure includes didactic coursework, weekly pre-recorded sessions, and weekly live pod sessions. The source also notes supervised practice through an apprenticeship program and consultation through a practicum program as part of the broader licensure pathway.
Who is this for?
People seeking training for Colorado psychedelic facilitation licensure, including Synthesis alumni, current students, and new students enrolling in the core training.
Prerequisites
Yes, previous retreat experience or work experience may count towards the requirements. If you attended Synthesis Immersion prior to January 1, 2025, you may be able to use that experience to qualify for your practicum requirements. Following that date, the Natural Medicine Program requires all practicum to be completed at a licensed healing center in the United States (Oregon or Colorado). If you have substantial experience as a "Legacy Healer," you may be eligible for licensure through an accelerated training pathway. Legacy Healers, under Colorado rules, need to demonstrate that their experience includes facilitation for at least 40 participants, with at least 200 hours of experience over a period of at least two years. Please note, they must still complete the Colorado specific learnings that will be covered in our upcoming Colorado Module.
