Course Overview

Somatics in the Context of Medicinal Plants is an integrative approach to inter-being taught by Barbara Carlsen. The course aims to provide an understanding of how body awareness practices can optimize and improve the integration of master plants in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, working with somatic, autonomic, and limbic processing systems. Topics covered include the science of interconnection through corporeal practices, the historical and cultural contexts affecting corporeality, and the neurobiology of somatic therapies and its application to neuroplasticity. The course is conducted online and consists of six 2-hour meetings.
