Course Overview
The Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration: Introduction for Practitioners course is a 2-day workshop to equip healthcare providers with the necessary tools to guide clients through the complexities of psychedelic experiences. Developed by a multidisciplinary team of a physician, a psychologist, and an integration therapist, the course blends clinical experience with evidence-based practices.
The curriculum delves into the nuances of altered states of consciousness, offering a framework for client integration incorporating somatic and mindful inquiry. Drawing from various therapeutic modalities, including modern bio-medical and traditional Indigenous perspectives, the course also provides actionable tools to navigate the legal and ethical dimensions of psychedelic-assisted therapy.
This virtual workshop is facilitated by seasoned experts in the field and is offered in English and French. With 10 hours of instruction, including 7 hours of live sessions and 3 hours of online pre-work, participants will engage in case studies and role plays to gain practical insights into the various phases of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. The course is timely, given the increasing mainstream interest in psychedelics as a treatment modality for various mental health conditions.
