The Fundamentals of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy for Mental Health is a 4-part online training program designed to educate medical and mental health professionals, individuals with lived experience, and consumers on the science and clinical use of psychedelics. This course aims to help participants stay on the cutting edge of these transformational treatments and understand their impact on practice, patients, families, and communities.
The program is suitable for a wide range of professionals, including general practitioners, psychiatrists, physicians, psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors, nurses, paramedics, coaches, social workers, occupational therapists, art therapists, students in mental health fields, health system regulators, mental health patients, and their families.
Throughout the course, participants will learn about the science behind how psychedelics affect consciousness, the historical context of psychedelic substances, their practical use in psychotherapy, the psycho-biological model of consciousness, the role of psychedelics in transcending limiting beliefs, the integration phase, and the current legal environment in Australia.
The course is divided into four weeks, covering topics such as the science and history of psychedelic medicine, theory of mind and altered state-based therapy, frameworks for integrating the transcendent experience, and the future of psychedelic medicine and paradigm shift. The program is available on demand as a self-paced study, allowing participants to begin within minutes of enrolling.
Instructors Dr. Tra-ill Dowie and Nigel Denning bring decades of experience in teaching and clinical work, with expertise in integrating best practices from Eastern tradition into the Western scientific paradigm.
