Effects of Psilocybin on Religious and Spiritual Attitudes and Behaviors in Clergy from Various Major World Religions

In a randomised, parallel-group waitlist-controlled exploratory study (n=29) of psychedelic-naïve clergy, two supported psilocybin sessions were well tolerated and produced significant, sustained increases in religious practices, attitudes, perceived leadership effectiveness, and broader psychological wellbeing. These effects persisted up to 16 months and were frequently rated among participants' most spiritually meaningful experiences.

Group Retreat Psilocybin Therapy for People with Metastatic Cancer with Symptoms of Anxiety and Depression: Safety and Efficacy Outcomes of a Phase 1/2 Study

This Phase I/II study (n=52) tested a group retreat model of psilocybin therapy for people with metastatic cancer and anxiety or depression, using 25 mg psilocybin in a 3-day retreat format. No unattended distress episodes occurred, and anxiety and depression scores fell over 28 days.

Psilocybin-Assisted Psychotherapy for Treatment-Resistant Depression in Bipolar II Disorder

In a subgroup analysis of four adults with treatment-resistant bipolar II disorder, one or two 25 mg psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy sessions produced rapid reductions in depressive symptoms (mean MADRS 32.5 → 20.3 at two weeks, 21.3 at six months). No treatment-emergent mania, hypomania or psychosis was observed, indicating preliminary safety and potential antidepressant efficacy that requires confirmation in larger trials.

Low-Dose LSD Alters Early and Late Event-Related Potentials to Emotional Faces

This double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled study (n=39) examines the effects of a single low dose of LSD (26µg) on event-related potentials during an emotional face oddball task. It finds that LSD significantly reduced the amplitude of N170 ERP to neutral faces and P300 ERP to neutral and happy faces, suggesting differential effects on brain responses to social and emotional information.
