Porta Sophia filed a third-party submission in November 2021. The original eighteen claims were cancelled and narrowed to seven before the patent granted in 2024. It is a concrete example of prior art shaping the boundaries of a patent rather than blocking it outright, which is often the more realistic and more useful outcome.
