Exeter Psychedelic Interdisciplinary Centre (EPIC)
Data updated
The Exeter Psychedelic Interdisciplinary Centre, known as EPIC, is based at the University of Exeter and deliberately spans disciplines, drawing together psychology, neuropharmacology, philosophy and anthropology. It is led by Celia Morgan, one of the UK's more established psychopharmacologists, alongside researchers including Leor Roseman, Simon Ruffell and Peter Sjostedt-Hughes. Rather than concentrating on a single indication, the centre studies the therapeutic potential of psychedelics for neuropsychiatric conditions while also examining the broader philosophical and cultural dimensions of the experience. Projects range from group psilocybin administration outside clinical settings to the integration of Indigenous knowledge into trial design, and the centre offers taught programmes for students entering the field.
