It is not designed as a general-interest introduction for members of the public, and prior psychedelic experience is not required.
What do you need before you start?
Applicants must generally be licensed clinical or medical professionals. Therapists are expected to have significant psychotherapy experience, while medical professionals should have an interest in and exposure to therapeutic interventions. Applicants must be comfortable with altered-state experiences in a group setting, complete an application describing their professional experience and learning goals, and attend a 20 to 30-minute interview; cohorts are capped at about 12 participants.
Is Living Medicine Institute accredited?
Living Medicine advertises 16 APA continuing-education credits for psychologists and therapists on its Level One Clinical Intensive page, while the same page says CE credits are still in process, so applicants should verify the current approval status before enrolling. The provider issues certificates of completion, and its stated full certification pathway requires completion of the training followed by work with two KAP clients under LMI supervision. No university degree, governmental licence or independently accredited academic award is documented.
How much does it cost?
The Level One Clinical Intensive is listed at $4,500 for the full training, $3,200 for people who have completed an LMI introductory retreat, and $2,200 to $2,500 for an auditing-only option depending on the cohort page. The full intensive includes recorded didactics, live online teaching, an in-person workshop, mentoring, buddy-group work, homework and seven ketamine experientials, but participants arranging experientials through an external clinic are responsible for those clinical costs. Introductory residential retreats are listed at $3,200 to $3,350 and include tuition, two supported ketamine experiences, accommodation and meals. Payment plans may be available, and clinical supervision is separately listed at $200 per hour.
