Investigating the Mechanisms of the Effects of Psilocybin on Visual Perception and Visual Representations in the Brain

Not yet recruitingRegisteredCTG

Crossover, randomised Phase I study (n=80) using single oral doses of psilocybin (range 0-14 mg) to investigate effects on visual perception and brain representations using fMRI in healthy volunteers.

Details

This study uses fMRI during a visual perceptual task to characterise how psilocybin alters visual perception and the brain’s representation of visual stimuli in healthy adult participants.

A randomised, double-blind crossover compares different single oral doses of psilocybin (0–14 mg) administered prior to fMRI; outcomes focus on neural mediation of perceptual changes.
