A Low-Dose Ketamine Infusion for Acute and Maintenance Treatment for Severe Depression and Suicide: A Double-Blind Randomized Controlled Study

Parallel randomized double-blind trial of IV ketamine 0.5 mg/kg vs midazolam 0.045 mg/kg (active placebo) for acute and maintenance treatment of severe depression with suicidal ideation in adults 20–65. Target enrollment: 48. Primary outcome: rate of reduction in suicide symptoms post-infusion. Conducted at Cheng Hsin General Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan.
