The sources differ in how they operationalise that support. The ibogaine manual focuses on physical safety and observability, with a comfortable bed, nearby lavatory, reduced walking, and staff positioned to monitor continuously. The ayahuasca report stresses minimal investigator interference and a controlled inpatient context, while the BPL-003 trial adds a decorated room, relaxing music, guided breathing before dosing, and a semi-supine position on a hospital bed. So the shared aim is a supportive, low-stress setting, but the specific environmental features and the degree of facilitator presence vary between manuals.
