Joan Francesc Alonso was born in Ripoll in 1979 and earned a Telecommunication Engineer degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 2002, followed by a Master in Bioengineering in 2004. He worked as a research assistant at UPC’s Biomedical Engineering Research Centre and later as a researcher at CIBER-BBN before earning a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from UPC in 2011. His research has focused on biological signal analysis, especially EEG and MEG, and he has been affiliated with UPC’s Automatic Control Department.
