Predictors of psychedelic treatment outcomes among special operations forces veterans

This prospective study (n=86) examined the effects of ibogaine and 5-MeO-DMT treatment on U.S. Special Operations Forces Veterans with trauma exposure. Younger age and higher baseline levels of depression and anxiety were correlated with significant improvements in mental and psychosocial outcomes from baseline to 1-month follow-up. Greater intensity of changes in consciousness was linked to improved long-term mental health and psychosocial outcomes up to 6 months post-treatment.

Psychedelic Treatment for Trauma-Related Psychological and Cognitive Impairment Among US Special Operations Forces Veterans

In a retrospective survey of 51 U.S. Special Operations Forces veterans who completed a psychedelic programme in Mexico (ibogaine and 5‑MeO‑DMT), participants reported very large reductions in suicidal ideation, PTSD, depression, anxiety and cognitive impairment alongside large increases in psychological flexibility. These preliminary, self‑reported findings are limited by retrospective design and lack of randomisation/blinding, so controlled trials are needed to establish efficacy.

Efficacy of Sublingual 5-MeO-DMT for Reducing Anxiety and Depression in MCI (5-MeO-DMT)

This Phase I/II randomised, triple-blind, placebo-controlled trial (n=20) will study the effects of sublingual 5-MeO-DMT (6 mg, administered weekly for four weeks) on anxiety, depression, and cognitive function in individuals with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.
